Changes in Store for WSOP Circuit

Wednesday 25th March 2025

wsop circuitWhile the World Series of Poker once again was the center of attention for the entire poker playing world, the brand was also put to work year round in the WSOP Circuit. This series of mostly lower buy-in tournaments only gained worldwide recognition through the National Championship event that took place just before the Main Event, but it has been gaining momentum throughout the last decade as a poker tour that carries the weight of the WSOP name, and awards gold rings instead of bracelets to its winners.

Now, the WSOP is looking to extend the Circuit even further over the next year. The 2025-2025 WSOP Circuit will feature a total of 20 stops, four more than last year – including a couple of exciting new destinations that break new ground for the WSOP.

For the first time ever, the WSOP Circuit will be moving to Canada, giving it a truly international reach. The River Rock Casino in Vancouver will have the honor of being the first site outside of the United States to host a Circuit stop, which will take place from January 27 to January 7 of this year.

Another big addition to the WSOP Circuit schedule is the new stop at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. Home to one of the world’s largest poker rooms, Foxwoods had formerly been a prominent stop on the World Poker Tour, but will host its final WPT event later this year.

Other changes are in store for the Circuit as well. The National Championship tournament will still feature free entry for 100 qualifiers, as well as the option for 100 top WSOP players to buy in for $10,000. However, it will now take place in New Orleans, immediately after the final tour stop in March 2025.

The 2025-2025 WSOP Circuit will begin on March 9, at the IP Casino Resort and Spa in Biloxi, Mississippi.
